The Sweet Music of Piano

One of the most elegant instrument produced by man is the piano - also known in the past a pianoforte. The piano is grand instrument which allows us to travel in the different worlds of fantasy and dreams, creates a sad or happy feeling and can awaken whatever emotions are hidden deep within us. In the western world, piano has been the emblem of elegance and sophistication for many centuries and it has marked out its olden times to the most basic musical stringed instruments.

The precursors of this amazing instrument were on their way of trying to create a stringed instrument. Nevertheless, the piano we have known today was made by Bartolomeo Cristofori in around 1700 of Padua, Italy. Only three of the pianos originally made by Cristofori from 1720's are existing nowadays. Harpsichord, a stringed instrument created by Cristofori is behind the success of the creation of piano forte.[ More]
