One of the most elegant instrument produced by man is the piano - also known in the past a pianoforte. The piano is grand instrument which allows us to travel in the different worlds of fantasy and dreams, creates a sad or happy feeling and can awaken whatever emotions are hidden deep within us. In the western world, piano has been the emblem of elegance and sophistication for many centuries and it has marked out its olden times to the most basic musical stringed instruments.

The precursors of this amazing instrument were on their way of trying to create a stringed instrument. Nevertheless, the piano we have known today was made by Bartolomeo Cristofori in around 1700 of Padua, Italy. Only three of the pianos originally made by Cristofori from 1720's are existing nowadays. Harpsichord, a stringed instrument created by Cristofori is behind the success of the creation of piano forte.

From the earliest days on, many individuals aimed to get a hold of the best-made pianos and playing it is considered to be an invigorating experience. In order to create the best and greatest melody of all times, many people nd companies began to make up good quality pianos. Baldwin, Chickering and Steinway - These are a few of the popular piano brands. The improvement of piano to its current form is greatly affected by two factors. They are due to the - Advancement of the Industry that gave the manufacturers great access to materials of good quality like steel and another is the insisting composers and pianists who ask for a more dominant piano sound. Nowadays, there are two kinds of piano: the Upright and Grand pianos. The major advancement of technology made it possible to create the third kind which is the digital piano. They are great alternatives for piano to those people who cannot afford to buy or avail the high cost of acoustic pianos.

The piano which is considered to be the best instrument by most composers and artists has an important role in the music industry. It gives off a resonating and delightful rich sound that brings enjoyment and pleasant memories to the listeners. This is the reason why you can see almost any homes to have a piano instrument on that center spot, and it is just like a part of the family.

Aside from its wondrous sound, it can make a beautiful embellishment in your cozy home and it comes in different sizes to suit any needs. Having it around can create a great bonding moment to the entire family - sing a song while a member plays the piano, and it can be very useful during gatherings and important occasions like the wedding. Thus the expense of hiring a pianist is avoided.

As the years go by and as the technology continue to advance, more and more piano revolutions will go on. They will again come up with a much better way to enhance the sound and appearance of the piano to respond to the demands of the thirsty composers and pianists of all times.

>The Triple Goddess by Beau Hermes- The Triple Goddess is said to have been honored as early as 13,000 B.C. We've unfortunately been ruled by a patriarchal system over the last two thousand years. In the Hindu religion, the Triple Goddess was Parvati-Uma-Durga. In ancient Greece she was called Hebe-Hera-Hecate. In ancient Ireland she was Ana-Babd-Macha and the Druids had Diana Triformis.

>Maya Indians by Anthony Benjamin- The Maya Indian Civilization flourished from 250AD to 900AD; this is known as history's Classic Period; there were as many as one-million Maya Indians in Belize.

Between the Classic Period and Post-Classic Period the Maya Empire split into separate conflicting "City States," just like the Roman Empire, lasting until the Spanish Colonial Period in the early 1600's. Though not known why, there are many different reasons this split could have happened, such as, over population, a revolt, disease or drought. However, there is evidence that there was over population.
