This is a short story ...
There was a kingdom in the Land Priangan. Live a happy family, the father in the form of a dog (named Tumang), a mother (named Dayang Sumbi), and a son named Sangkuriang. Tumang is the incarnation of a god who has magical powers.
One day, Dayang Sumbi asked his son to go hunting in nearby woods and look for deer liver. So Sangkuriang go hunting with his favorite dog, Tumang, to please his mother. After hunting all day without any results, Sangkuriang getting desperate and worried. Without thinking, Sangkuriang took his bow and shot his dog. Then he took heart or dog meat, and brought home.
He gave the dog liver or meat to the mother. Not long after Dayang Sumbi know that Sangkuriang lied to him. He knows that Sangkuriang had killed Tumang. So, he became very angry and hit her head Sangkuriang. Sangkuriang injured and have a sign. Sangkuriang far removed from their homes.
Years passed, Sangkuriang has traveled to many places and one day, he arrived at a village that once was his home. He met a beautiful woman who is actually his mother and fell in love with him.
Love them grow and one day, when they talked about their marriage plans, Dayang Sumbi suddenly realized that the characters on the head with characteristic Sangkuriang only child who had disappeared twenty years ago. How could she marry her own son? But he did not want to disappoint him by canceling the marriage. So, although she agreed to marry Sangkuriang, there are conditions that must be met is to make a lake and a boat so they can sail at sunrise on their wedding day.
Sangkuriang accept these terms and create a lake with a dam Citarum river. With time growing short and the boat is almost complete, Dayang Sumbi realized that Sangkuriang will meet the condition she had. Fell and the boat upside down, thus becoming a mountain Tangkuban Parahu (in Sundanese, Tangkuban is reversed, and Parahu means boat). With the collapse of the dam, the water is deposited in the lake dried up and became a wide plain that is now become a city called BANDUNG (from the levee, which means Dam / dam / reservoir).
